Nigerian Female singer-songwriter, Tems has officially earned ‘The Queen of Afrobeats’ title.

The Essence crooner made history at the BET Awards and Nigerian music industry with her multiple awards. She won not one, but two awards at the 2022 BET awards. She won “Best International Act” ahead of Fireboy DML who was also nominated in the same category

Wizkid’s Essence featuring Tems and Justin Bieber also won an award for “Best Collaboration” earning Tems her second award. The singer was called on stage to receive the award on behalf of Wizkid who is currently in Rotterdam for the ohmymusicfest.

With this achievement, Tems Joins Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido to become the first female afrobeat Mainstream artist to win a BET Award for the Best international act category.
